A wonderful place to soak in the rich history and glorious architectural heritage of Vijaynagar Empire. The most enthralling experience in this temple are the musical stone pillars...Overall if history and ancient architecture thrills you, this is the right place for you...
Vithala Temple is simply stunning. The moment you set eyes on it, you will feel like being transported back 600 years. And you will be wondering how the people those days used to architect structures of such grand designs, engraved with ethereal art. It is beautiful, romantic and imposing. Take your time in visiting this place, look at various artistic... 更多
We visited the Hampi ruins in the reasonably cool month of January and really enjoyed our time wandering around this impressive World Heritage site. It's a little off the 'tourist track' and was very peaceful and uncrowded when we came. Hampi was the capital city of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 14th-16th AD and is divided into two main areas... 更多
We regretted visiting in summers. One of us caught the heat too. During summers the ruins and the rocks reflect more sunlight making the place horribly heated. Photographs look beautiful but not sure about the ruins. It is not as grand as Qutb minar or red fort or Dilwara temple. I will rate it below average. Government can do better... 更多
This is the best example of the Vijayanagara Style... The complex is pretty big and and in-front of the temple there is a km long old market( in ruins). Inside the temple there is one building where the pillars make sound of musical instruments on knocking ... Then there is the stone cart... Its truly beautiful...
This is one of those temples known for its musical pillars. Most of it is in state of ruins. Some restoration work is going on currently and hence we were not able to visit the main temple. To get to this temple you either can walk or get on to an electric cart as vehicles are not allowed and stopped... 更多
Amazing place to visit. Walk around as long as you like, climb to the top of the nearby hill which has a temple on top and amazing views - climb up the smaller temple boulders beside the town for sunset.
Theres a lot to see, with all the main sights, and as we arrived in the off season- Very Hot, and with only 2 days, we decided to see the places by tuk-tuk. It might in theory be walkable and cyclable, but in 40 degrees it isnt, and it is a fair way round the whole area. we left at... 更多
Standing in the midst of the ruins, the stone chariot attracts whoever enters the ancient kingdom of Vijayanagara. A Must visit. Try to reach by walk from Virupaksha to Vittala - along the river side- As this is one of the ancient walkways. Total disctance comes around 2 KM from Virupaksha temple. On the way, we can witness : Big... 更多
The most popular of the attractions in Hampi, Vithala should be your first visit because trust me, a half day in Hampi, and you ll feel like you don't want to visit the other places because the sun is too hot and you re so tired, and if there is one place you should see in Hampi, i guess Vithala... 更多
Hampi is a ruined city standing as a living example of religious intolerance on the part of Mugal invaders. Among many monuments Vittala Temple is well known as most impressive shrine of Hampi. It offers a blow to visitors’ mind of its past beauty carried on to the present era on southern bank of Tungabhadra River. We can see an... 更多
Amazing carvings done out of singular rocks. Simply incredible. Never seen anything like it before. This complex was particularly amazing especially the Stone chariot, once you had dodged the human poo everywhere

I loved the Vithala Temple Complex. The complex houses Stone chariot, musical pillar, etc. which is simply awesome. From main gate either you walk till the campus which may be quite a lot in sun. If you want to avoid that there are electric cars, which are paid, that take you to the place. On the route to the complex,... 更多
