We had a pretty even pro/con list for this park. Some recreation/camping areas are better than others. We got lucky and happened to pick a good one - Redding on the Mulberry River (good bathrooms). White Rock Mountain camping was small, bathrooms yuck. But the view there and the Rim Ridge Trail is beautiful! Shoals Lake camping was crowded (but... 更多
We took the supposedly .7 mile trail but seemed like 1.7 miles but the scenery was well worth it. The pedestals were absolutely beautiful and the view was even better. If you look around you will see something eye catching every step of the way. Make sure to bring water and snacks because you get so caught up in the... 更多
We visited this area with friends who love to hike...and they talked us into making the trek to Pedestal Rock. It was about a mile each way...and since we are not hikers ourselves....it was quite a strenuous experience. Ozark~St. Francis National Forests is a beautiful place to visit. This was my first time to visit and I enjoyed my visit thoroughly and plan on returning soon.
You don't just enjoy this national forest by going there. You enjoy it when you are driving near this beautiful medium-size community. You can hike the trails, or you can just drive through or around, just enjoying the scenery.
Highway 7 out of Russellville,ar. Stayed in Conway at wonderful Fairfield. Took a wrong turn going to Branson but turned out to be the best wrong turn! Out of Russellville we took highway 7 to Branson. Cliff restaurant on this highway recommended too. Beautiful scenery and mountain roads. Rest stop on the way clean and well maintained.
I actually grew up not far from this trail so I have walked the walk many times. You can spend only a couple hours or all day. The views are incredible. If you have time definitely do the King's Bluff trail. Also, there is no where to pick up lunch, a snack or even a drink for miles so be... 更多
This is a five-star destination. The Ozark mountains are absolutely beautiful. There are many "hidden" gems in this forest which may be the reason I only give this four stars instead of five. Although there is a website with information regarding the forest, there is no clearly defined tourist/visitor guide that lists the attractions in a digestible manner. There are... 更多
