Definitely worth the trek up the hill. It's on private property so you just pay the old man who lives next-door. It has an abandoned feel, and some of the wooden floors seem questionable, but it's a very impressive house with a beautiful wedding room and amazing views from the upper balcony. The views alone are worth the trip.
We were made very welcome to this wonderful piece of architecture. Each room in this fours story building told a different story and introduces the visitors to life in ottoman times. A grand house perched on the side of the hill, easily accessible from the nearby fortress with a steep but easy stroll back down into the city. Highly recommended.
Worth the uphill walk to see this amazing old house. But the hospitality of the owners was what we most remembered. The house itself is in pretty good condition having undergone several interventions to repair the roof and wooden elements. The only draw back is its location, at the top of the hill (a hard walk in the mid day sun) in the Palorto neighborhood.
Zekate House is clearly worth visiting. It is a 10-15 minutes walk uphill from the bazar in the old town, which bodes for stunning views of the castle and the Drinos valley.
