I have lived here for a few years now. I have been around the park. I even got to see the civil war reenactment every other year. I just went into the museum. It was educational and had a small but cool gift shop. The 15 minute video of the war was interesting. I enjoyed it all.
This battlefield didn't have the same feel as the others I have been to. It seemed more like a park than a battlefield. It was still nice to visit but that is the reason it lost a star for me. There is a park and some areas to sit and eat but as for the battlefield there was about a... 更多
My husband had read about this place and decided he wanted to go there and absorb a little history. We chose a wonderful time to year to go because the weather was perfect and everything was green and lovely. Hard to believe so much killing went on there back in 1862 - it looks so peaceful now. They keep up... 更多
Overall, I had a great experience at the park. The museum was neat and well organized with some really interesting information. Even without the CD on the driving tour, there was plenty to read on the signs and free brochure. We did have a bit of trouble finding a couple of the stops on the driving tour, but with the... 更多
If you love history, you'll love this place. The old buildings here are amazingly well preserved and let you take a trip back in time to the 1800s to give you a glimpse at what life back then was like. Loved seeing the craftsmanship of the handmade logs used to build these buildings. Incredible!
This battlefield site is very well taken care of. The staff at the visiting center were very friendly. The center has a small museum which is incredibly well appointed. The displays are very well done and there were several interactive ones that kids would enjoy. There is also a short film about the battle. The main activity is a driving... 更多
This state park site is significant in that it is one of the most complete and protected battlefields from the war between the states. The museum displays offer a good explanation as to what went on here in 1862 as well as the events earlier that year a little farther north at Pea Ridge. A nice gift shop is adjacent... 更多
I was very impressed of this state park. The staff were so very welcoming and sooo.. Friendly. We did the car tour with the purchase of the CD. Not expensive at all $4. We enjoyed the grounds and information. If you like historical places, you need to see this very special place. We recommamd this to anyone that wants to... 更多
Prairie Grove has come a long way in the last 20 years. The exhibits in the visitor center have been completely redone and are now professional. There is a good 1 mile walking trail and an easy-to-follow driving tour. I wish they hadn't cluttered the battlefield with a large inventory of recreational facilities but that is an inheritance the historically... 更多
