We took our granddaughters to the dam. I wanted to show them highlights of places I would visit when I grew up in the area. I'm pretty sure they enjoyed it. I certainly did! Brought back a lot of memories.
Nice view if the dam, lake and river. Nature center. Habitat recreations of the area and fish in aquariums. Nice gift shop. he building itself is a Wonder. Cooled and heated with geothermal architecture was a nice surprise.
I always put the Dam and visitor center on agenda for visitors to the area. The visitor center is a beautiful facility with really helpful staff. The video is a must see - gives a great background to the creation of the dams and what made our area what it is today. Also great for kids. They get to see... 更多
for a history of how the damn was built when..why..and a museum of things from the area, and what made this part of the Ozarks a must place to see..it overlooks the scenic White River valley from below and the beautiful Bull Shoals lake..its worth a visit to stop into the visitor center..
The Bull Shoals Dam offers an interesting background on how the dam was built and a 30 minute film to show the construction and impact it has made on the Mountain Home and Bull Shoals area. It's a must see, especially for fisherman!
At the Gaston Center we were treated to a short video of the construction of the Bull Shoals dam and the taming of the White River. The Center has some great educational artifacts as well as live fish native to the area. The guides were super nice and knowledgeable.
Nice little trip for all ages. beautiful area love the lookout areas and the Gaston center is awesome. They have a cute gift shop and the staff is very helpful to let you know what's going on in the area and through the park district.
