We stopped here while visiting a few olive oil farms in the are. This tree is amazing! 3000 years old, and still produces olives? incredible. There is a small museum as well.
If you have more time in Crete, Olive tree museum deserves to be included in a day trip in the North-west part of the island. The tree is really stunning, the museum is small, but contains interesting info and items. You can combine this visit with a few beautiful churches and wineries in the surroundings.
We took our car for a trip to Kolymbari for lunch & then a short trip up the mountain to Vuves to find the ancient Olive tree & museum. The tree is amazing to see & followed by a visit to the small museum where it takes you through the history of the Olive industry with all the tools &... 更多

Easy to find on almost top of the hill. Great view towards the valley full of olive trees. Small museum but you get a good idea about the hardship of growing and cropping olives. Incredible sight if you have only seen regular olive trees. Great history connected with the tree, both in terms of cretan culture and the Olympic games. The drive the is very beautiful and allows you to get a feeling of the vest olive farms on crete, covering 25% of the Island. Nice Little museum next to the tree.
What a tree! I'm in awe! The trunk is twisted upwards and it's hollow on the inside. The museum itself is small, but has some interesting objects in it. Overall it's a short excursion and a short visit. I'm glad I went.
