The most beautiful place in Romania. There are no words to describe the view from the top of the mountain. Especially in good weather. You have to see this. You have to feel this.
If you're a keen motorcyclist & have a bucket list - this is one of the big ones. Romania is an amazing place & The Transfagarasan is a Mecca to motorcyclists & why not, with it's sheer alpine mountains, waterfalls & twisty switchback roads. But be careful, I don't recommend it for the novice. The weather can change so quickly... 更多
No doubt it's the most beautiful place/road (at least) in Romania. If you are around you cannot miss it. It doesn't make sense to describe it - you just need ot see it!
Reviewed by Top Gear some years ago and given 5* I had to try it. Well result is stunning; from a complexity of sharp turns and beautiful landscapes it's easy to get carried away. Unbelievable views from this place and excellent experience. Nature everywhere! Wild forest, rivers, waterfalls. Animals if you lucky (or not haha). Big respect for people who done this road! Highly recommended - attention: open only summer time!
We took a tour from our hostel up the Transfagaran highway to lake Balea. The views were awesome and totally worth it. Tour costs 140/per person- stopping first at the fargaras fortress, then heading up the Transfagaran Highway, stopping at several places to take pictures before reaching the lake. There are not enough words to describe the view during the trip on Transfagarasan. A must do if you visit Romania. Not too many like it in the world. Have some mici at Balea Cabana, too - they are delicious. :-)
