The Saxon fortified churches in Transylvania are not to be missed. They are like beautiful jewels in the jewel box of Transylvania. Although Biertan is the most famous, there are many scattered over the southern region of Transylvania waiting to be discovered.
This Saxon fortified church is quite beautiful. The frescoes on various walls remain largely in tact. As do the religious paintings dating back centuries. It was very quaint, having to get the key from a house in the village. The un-rendered local stonework gives the place a very mellow feel
Good to visit and compare against other Saxon churches, built...
