There are so many varieties of birds, you will not be disappointed. It is also quite possible to see elephant and giraffe, as well as hippos in the water. Crocodiles are almost guaranteed. Definitely worth taking a good camera, as the lilies and grasses make this a beautiful place to photograph. It is very important to be relaxed in the... 更多
There are different trips offered along the Okavango river, mainly starting from around The Third bridge near Okavango backpackers. Starting with a speed boat to reach further up the river is recommended. Where these boat trip ends, there is the poler station, from where most Mokoro trips start. This kind of a poled canoe is quite unique for the Okavango... 更多

Going to the Okavango River and the Okavango Delta was pretty much bucket list stuff for me, having been the subject of adventure novels like "The Delta" by Tony Park and non-fiction anecdotal collections such as "Whatever You Do, Don't Run" by Peter Allison. It's a fabulous place to visit, with various levels of accommodation, heaps of wildlife (we saw... 更多
Not only do you see amazing animals....lots of hippos and crocs, but elephants too! They all love the river! Enjoy but don't stick you hand in the river! LOL!!!
A spectacular place to go on boat trips, extended camping trips, birding afternoons, mokoro (dugout canoe) rides, as well as sundowner cruises. If you're in the area, not to be missed!
The river trip departing directly from our lodge was excellent and the guide very knowledgeable, especially about the bird life. We also made a short self-drive safari and had a flight over the delta in a small Cessna plane. All excursions were a wonderful, once in a lifetime, experience – we even saw African wild painted dogs and hyenas eating... 更多
The river is full of surprises as would be expected. It can be cold in winter so take warm clotheing. We had a super guide and it is imperative for an enjoyable trip. Go to Old Bridge Back packers they are well organized and most certainly made us happy.
We had an amazing 3 hours on mokoro along the river, silence, nature, paradise. Also, by taking a mokoro trip you support local communities, which is something i really appreciate about this area: very good care given to help comunnities and to protect nature.
