Don't miss the show at this attraction. Especially the fire dance inside the cavern. The owners go above and beyond to create an atmosphere of great entertainment, food, drink and information about Tongan culture. Steep descent to get down to the beach from the parking area so not recommended for wheelchair or disabled visitors.
I hope i got the spelling right for Simana Kana, apologies if not correct. The place is in a magical location to begin with. It is a bit of a drive from the town centre but is well worth it, a restaurant right on the beach complete with sandy floor. The feast was amazing, all cooked in the sand at... 更多
From the food to the cultural performance everything was incredible. We really enjoyed the owner who hosted the evening of music/dinner and show. He was proud of his family and staff and an important leader in his community. Don't miss this when you are in Tonga. Great value for a small price.
We had been meaning to visit Ohelei Hina Cave buffet and show our last 3 trips here and this time we managed to make it happen. The setting/location is amazing, the food tasty and plentiful but it was the performance set in the ancient cave that really sets this place apart. Check it out for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
I'll start this review by prefacing that I got wicked drunk on Tongan cocktails, which might have tainted my review. I had a great night! We were too late for transfers there, so caught a taxi (a horrifying experience, but unrelated to this review). The ambiance in the resort is lovely, sand floor, cave surrounding, thatched roof. The seats were... 更多
I have been to other shows like this in other places (Thailand/Hawai'i) but for some reason this one has topped them. Tongan cultural food followed by a show with cultural dancing and stories of Tonga's history made for a great night. That it all happened off the beach in a cave made it all the more special! Food was served... 更多
Oholei is one of 3 places in Tongatapu Is to watch fire dance. But Oholei is different from the other two. That is why we went there. Not only because of the buffet dinner but the show is in a natural cave. The dancers whom also the staff are trained by the owner Simana Kami whom also the show director.... 更多
I read the reviews before going here which were mixed, but I really wanted to see some local dancing as I loved it in Rarotonga. Well, I wasn't disappointed, it was a cool place and the dancing was awesome (especially the fire dancer!). The food was ok, and prepare to pay cash only and pay extra for drinks, but at... 更多
Staff forgot to serve us 4 times! Food was terrible and my partner and I got diarrhea! Thanks for that! Smallest toilet I have ever seen! Between door and toilet seat were approx. 5 cm space. NO JOKE ! -.- Show was boring, same dance 3 times just with different people. Highlight was a 5 minute firedance! Unfortunately not recommended!
