We talked all the way from the village and return, approximately 25 km. We started in the village and walked along the sea passing the Ahu Thai statues and some caves, before turning towards the hill on a gravel road. There is also nice ahu/statues were the trail starts (Ahu Akivi?) and you could actually go from here on horseback.... 更多
My husband and I hiked up to the top of the volcano and it was nice and peaceful. The walk itself was a little long and strenuous due to the hot sun but it was well worth the trip. Once at the top you forget about the hike and just enjoy the scenery of the island as well as the... 更多
A nice walk which starts through the woods if you start from the small archeological camp. Then it climbs smoothly on to the plateau up to the windy top (for which I recommend to keep something warm in the bagpack). Once up there, the view is stunning!
Great place to see panorama of Easter Island! We came to Ahu Akivi by quadrobike, then walked to the top of Maunga Terevaka. Amazing walking with great views around!))
I came here by biking, and hiked all the way up. you expect it's hot and no shops there. bring a lot water. the view is not too bad. you can see different corners of island. That will give you good idea the future days could be if you come here at very beginning of your trip to easter island.... 更多
Nice, easy hike. Takes 3-4h round trip, walking about 8 Km (5 miles). Go on a sunny or partially cloudy day, otherwise you won't see anything from the top as clouds will completely surround you.
Get a 360º view of the island! Is a very nice hike, it takes 3hrs to go there and come back. Just drive to Ahu Akivi, park your car and take the path to Tere Vaka! It is worth it!
The Terevaka is 512 meters high, the highest elevation of the island. You can climb from Akivi, Anakena or Vaitea. We undertake the climb from Vaitea and down to Hanga Roa. The ascent takes about 2 hours to the way back takes approx. 3 hours. Need water...
The view of Easter Island from the top is amazing, 360, all 3 corners of the triangular shaped island. It is the highest volcanic peak with stellar views of the surrounding terrain. Takes about 90 minutes to reach the top. Hat, sunscreen, good shoes.
The great thing about this hike is that it doesn't seem like many people do it. We didn't see another soul there and back(we took the path off the main road from the south). The hike itself is relatively unremarkable but you do see some weird things along the way: it starts in what feels like a ghost village, then... 更多
