this is a beautiful walk, it has history, and good signage to let you know what you are seeing. The views are fabulous, its narrow in places, so you have to walk single file
I love this walk! Cliff top views, opportunity to spot Dolphins, harbour porpoise, basking shark etc. Historic ruins on route - st.declans well, watch tower and old church. If you stray off the path you can seek out the T-flag though this is not signposted. Decent walk safe enough for older kids though my heart would be in my mouth... 更多
Started by the beach and walked past The Cliff House Hotel. It is an easy walk about 4kms in total. You need good walking shoes as it is just a path trodden by the many walkers and is in its natural state. You pass St Declan's well and church first. There is a small alter where people have left memorabilia about... 更多
This is one of the main attractions in Ardmore, with stunning views of its rugged cliffs against the Celtic Sea. Along the route is the wreck of The Samson which is now mostly a maternity hospital for seagulls, but impressive nonetheless. We did this walk on a misty day and it was still beautiful. We set off from the Cliff House Hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a 4km loop and although relatively easy, there are some up hill bits that might be challenging for some people. There are lots of historical bits along the way - we... 更多
First time back in 24 years we stayed at the old cliff top hotel back then on our honeymoon ....with the inlaws.. i still remember the beautiful walks back then and i can confirm the walks and scenery is as beautiful. do yourself a favour and do this walk.
Walk starts at historic St. Declan's well and there are other historic landmarks throughout the walk. Scenery is magnificent and walk ends at the famous round tower. Walk too about 45 minutes and was not too taxing. there are some seats along the way to take a rest if required.
There's a Cliff Walk Challenge to see who can do the most walks. Takes roughly an hour if you don't stop. Lots to see along the way, including St Declan's well, the wreck of the Samson, a WWII lookout post, Fr O'Donnell's well, and the Round Tower with St Declan's Oratory and Cathedral. Easy to do. No special footwear or... 更多
