This was a strange experience. On the one side the landscape is beautiful and you have the impression of reliving that period. On the other side the atmosphere is joyless and bleak as its buildings. This place looks more suitable as a lunatic asylum as an education center for an elite.
A rare look into the Nazi past. This was a camp for elite young students. They were trained to be the Nazi leaders. Sports, manliness, hygiene, rough life were taught. See it and believe it. Evidence of history. This really happened. Most impressive is the giant torch - about 50 meters high, when filled with kerosene, the light could be... 更多
We combined our visit to the area of Burg Vogelsang with a very nice walk and visit to Wollseifen. We parked our car at the free car park at the beginning of the lane leading to Vogelsang. A perfect starting point if you want to complete a tour but a bit too far if you just want to visit Vogelsang.... 更多
Drove with my family to see this sight, was quite disappointed & left wondering what we missed. I had read the reviews first & called ahead to book a tour in English but was told it would cost 100 Euro. We decided to walk around & look ourselves but found many areas closed or inaccessible without a guide & LOTS... 更多
Visiting this place drives home the point that totalitarian governments spare nothing to indoctrinate the people and to stay in power. The complex is huge and is one of the largest architectural relics of National Socialism (more than 12 acres of buildings). Quite worth a visit. We reached the place by public transportation from Einruhr on the lake and then... 更多
It's a large estate in the Eifel National Park. It was used as an educational center for future leaders of the National Socialists (Nazi Party) in the 1936 to 1939. During the WWII, the estate was given to the German Army for training. After the war in 1946 the estate was used by the Belgian Army for the same purpose.... 更多
Beautiful views of the training area, impressive buildings. Vogelsang IP is in a prime countryside location. The food was decent for a fair price. Not many people speak english other than some of the tour guides. For a better time understanding the history of the place take a guided tour which grants you access to some places that you could... 更多
We visited this ex Nazi establishment, it has a very depressing atmosphere and buildings which are at present being converted into some sort of a conference centre. The site is vast in beautiful countryside with wonderful views. A lovely cafe and shop but not a place I would wish to visit again.
This former nazi trainingcamp is quite amazing. It is very nice to see that all the building are still there in good condition and everything has explanation and guide. There's some eerie atmosphere in the site. Specially considering that the swimming pool and gym are still open for public. very very eerie... but something worth experiencing!
