Boothill Graveyard was the Tombstone City Cemetery from 1878 to 1884. It was not called Boothill until the 1920s. Its occupants ran the spectrum of all the cultures and nationalities of early Tombstone. Cowboys who "died with their boots on" lie next to housewives, business men and women, miners, gamblers, ladies of the "red-light district" and all the famous and not so famous occupants that contributed to Tombstone's early history. By the 1920s, Boothill had fallen into ruin with many grave markers lost or unreadable. A group of citizens in Tombstone and Cochise County began the task of researching old burial records, consulting with relatives, older residents, and using all means available to identify the occupants and mark the graves properly. The task took several years and the efforts of many to accomplish. This resulted in the graveyard being restored much as it was in the early years when it was the city cemetery.

This was our third visit to Boot Hill and every time I am in awe and full of respect for the people who are buried there. Boot Hill is well maintained but has kept the graves as they would have been when they were buried. It is a real cemetery so most people visiting are very respectful of this. Walking... 更多

We took a walk up to Boothill from our campground in search of a geocache and some history. The shop attendant was informative and helpful. Graveyard was well kept and HIGHLY educational. Definitely enjoyed our visit.

Although Hollywood makes this place seem like it's "downtown", it's off just a bit from the main area of Tombstone. A must visit for any Tombstone fan or history fan.

I am a huge fan of historical sites and that includes grave sites. I've been to the Salem witch memorial in Salem, and while very interesting I can easily say it's not half as informative as this cemetery. Upon your arrival you are given a warm welcome from a local cowboy type who will offer you a guide map for... 更多

Located just outside town it would be easy to drive by but we're glad we stopped. There is no cost to enter but a donation is nice. It is larger than I expected but every headstone is interesting so don't miss a row.

Boothill is an amazing place to visit. It not only has graves of the ruthless men of the old west but also the Chinese men and women who worked there in Tombstone. It also has a memorial to the Jewish people that lived during this time. Lots of history. If you are a history buff it is a must stop... 更多

This was our last stop as we were leaving town. It has a lot of history here. We roamed around reading all the old headstones . The guide pamphlet made it all more interesting.

This is free, accepts donations. The tombstones are fascinating cuz they tell little story about the person buried there. We had a great time.

A must see! Totally enjoyed walking and reading the stones. Worth the few dollars to walk around. You will not regret.

Best part of Tombstone is this place. It's free but donations are welcome especially for the guide pamphlet which tell you about some of the occupants, like the Mclaury brothers and Billy Clinton from the OK Corral battle. Lots of interest here
