From someone with Scottish Mountain experience, this was something a bit different. There is talk of difficulty on the blog, but to put this in context, it is probably about as strenuous as Ben Vorlich or Schiehallion. Certainly nothing like Ben More or Ben Lomond in terms of wasting your legs for a few days. Not much exposure, you will... 更多
I happen to love hiking Bear Mountain sheerly for the challenge and views. But be advised that once you reach the end of the trail, it's kinda like it just ends still on the upward slope. Might be I missed something but I've hiked it 3 times and never find a really comfortable place out of the sun to rest.... 更多
Even if you don't have time to reach the top (2.5 hours up / 1.5 hrs down), the view from the first of three summits is well worth the time plus it's a well marked safe trail. My boyfriend did it twice on our trip. Just make sure you bring enough water - 2 water bottles each is not going... 更多
My wife and I did this during our vacation out to Sedona and it was a very hot day. For this one make sure to bring plenty of water and a good attitude as the trail has about 4 peaks to get past for the final 'End of Trail' sign. Overall it is a long hike and fairly strenuous but... 更多
One of the tougher hikes for Sedona but still very doable and well worth it. Provides great views and gives you a sense of accomplishment when done. Do on a cooler dry day or early in morning on a warmer day.
Know the trail markers!!! They are the white diamond shape!! I unfortunately did not at first and found myself trying to climb up an impossible area, needless to say I was still pulling out cacti needles from my arms and legs the whole rest of the day! Due to me getting lost and waiting for others, as I was by... 更多
Take your time and your water, but the views from the top are awesome! Took about 4 hours to get up and down the trail, but well worth it!
Firstly I'd like to thank the local lady that pointed me in the right direction to the trailhead. In my excitement to get started I nearly set off on the Doe Mountain trail, when I should have crossed the road and climbed over the fence there. The trail itself teases you by starting off very easy, but soon reveals itself... 更多
A very nice trail which took us about 4 hours up and down. The view you get when you reach the top is amazing! But be aware: It's not a trail for beginners! It's quite hard to hike, because it's very steep and you have to climb several times. We even lost the trail twice on our way up because... 更多
