This trail runs along the Watson Lake which is beautiful and the weather was perfect. The Preavine Trail runs into Iron King Trail and several other smaller ones which run closer to lake. The SF, P&P Railway used to run through in the old days, there are even some small railcars along the trail which were used. The rock formations... 更多
Fairly long trail but level so good for novices. Go past the lake to get a nice view of the Dells. Some great photo ops and nice review of the history of the area.
The Peavine Trail was established as a part of the 'Rails to Trails' program. It is segmented on the Northeastern perimeter of Prescott and goes from Sun Dog Ranch Road off of Prescott Lakes Parkway North around Watson Lake to Hwy 89A. There is parking at Sun Dog Ranch Road as well as on the Side Road exit off of... 更多
Prescott is lucky to have this great packed-dirt trail. Good for mountain bikes, runners, and walkers. Definitely bring a camera for the views.
Very easy walk on a Spring afternoon. The walking surface on the main trail is on a former railroad right-of-way. Therefore the walking surface is smooth not strenuous. Please continue on the main trail until the mid way point. The scenery at the beginning of the trail is nothing extraordinary, however as the trial progresses into the Dells the vistas... 更多
Whether you are up for a 3 mile or 6 mile walk you can't go wrong on the Peavine Trail. Sometimes I just walk out 1.5 miles to see a beautiful view of the Lake and then walk back. Other days I walk to Point of Rocks (3 miles out, 3 miles back). Whether a short or long walk, I'm... 更多
We loved this well maintained trail. Took a few small paths to get closer to Watson Lake. Used by walkers, bikers, joggers, whole families with kids etc. $2 parking fee until 6pm but free on Wednesdays. Lots of ducks, cormorants, geese in the first couple of miles in. There is no shade on the trail so on hot days come... 更多
The gravel trail is wide and well marked. You'll see in a couple places parts of the old railway P, P, & SF Railway. On dry days and several days after rain or snow, you can wear gym shoes. Otherwise, boots are advised. The trail also connects to several other trails around Watson Lake, so you can go several times... 更多
Have not traveled the whole trail, but have used it to connect to other trails around Watson Lake, a $2 parking fee (free on Wednesday) is all it takes..... this trail is wide and very shareable with mountain bikes..... I have covered about three miles of the trail from the trailhead north and taken a beautiful trail, Lakeshore, around part... 更多
