Lots of picnic areas. We hiked 2 miles of the sunset vista trail. Moderate level difficulty. The first part is up and down and then it moderates. Great vistas. $7 admission fee for the car.
This park stretches along Picacho Peak. The visitor centre is modern and welcoming with friendly and helpful staff. There's lots of parking and facilities for camping and hiking. The trails are well marked but most are at least moderate and you need to take note of advisories regarding the equipment you need to stay safe. There is an easy nature... 更多
We've stayed here twice now & will definitely return. Just off the highway but almost no traffic noise in the campground. Plenty of space for big rigs & the views are amazing. Lots of nice hiking trails & the park is extremely clean & well kept. Electric only sites but the beauty of the park makes it worth the stop.... 更多
The two of us stayed two nights in our truck camper and loved it. The cactus are superb, with many saguaros on the surrounding hills and around the campsite. We stopped here on the way from Phoenix to Tucson for a picnic lunch. Great views and nice trails. There is a small visitor center and gift shop. There were lots of people hiking and enjoying the beautiful weather!
It was a overcast cool day when we headed to the state park - about 30 minutes from Casa Grande. We stopped at the visitor center and the ranger suggested we hike Sunset Vista Trail head on the southside of Picacho Peak ....but she suggested to do the first 2 miles only - after 2 miles it does get more... 更多
A wonderful place to visit, hike and camp in the high Sonoran Desert. You are surrounded by Saguaro, Ocotillo and Cholla cactus...watch out for the Cholla "jumping" cactus! It doesn't jump at you, but the slightest brush against it causes the bracts to fall off and you will get stuck! If it's a nice day, definitely pack a nice lunch... 更多
