It's like a mini version of the National Memorial at the U.S. Capital. It's very well laid out with the war & service memorials through out the park. I didn't get to stop at all of them. It's spread out, and we didn't have a whole lot of time to walk to each one of them. The heat can also... 更多
This was my first visit to the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix. It covers several acres to the east of the Arizona State Capital Building on West Washington Street. Downtown Phoenix is a few miles farther to the east. There was free parking beside the memorials. I was impressed by the memorial to the USS Arizona, which was sunk... 更多
There are several Memorials at this location. A lot of love, tears and time and memories here. The Peace Officers, The K-9 The Arizona Memorial to name just a few. You will also see the Viennam Memorial with it's stand walls of names of our lost brothers and the Medal of Honor Reciepiants. Look up and see the Vietnamese Flag... 更多
Beautiful park to walk around and read all the monuments that they have. Grounds are well maintained and located directly across from the state capitol. Memorials include firemen police canine and war. There is also a memorial for 9/11. I enjoyed visiting as I worked nearby. Good place to eat lunch outside and enjoy the surroundings. Good place to take... 更多
This is a gem near the state Capitol. The Memorials recognize many who did not return while defending our country. The displays of guns from USS Arizona and USS Missouri do indeed recognize the beginning and end of World War II. The markers indicating the lengths of the ships and the massive difference between the two and she shear numbers... 更多
An amazing place...we only discovered it as a previous reviewer recommended it for parking for the State Capitol museum. In fact, we thought it much more interesting than the museum! Worth a long leisurely stroll.
I think Wesley Bolin is very underrated. You get a great sense of territorial history here. Be sure to go inside. Small but nice gift shop too.
If you're around the AZ State Capitol, go visit this place. There's a Vietnam memorial, Police memorial, a few other memorials as well and even some barrels from WWII battleships. Worth taking an hour to walk around to look at everything. It's free.
We visited the capitol museum first and then to the park to see the anchor from the Arizona. It is a large park with several different memorials to many groups serving the people of AZ. I liked the memorial to the police dogs and the Codetalkers. The pathway to the anchor was quite impressive, walking through an arbor of metal... 更多
