Did an impromptu guided tour with my girlfriend on a rainy day in April. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a great deal about the history of Teatro Colon as well as the history of theatre in Buenos Aires. This building is as elegant as any of the palaces of Europe. I would love to have seen a musical performance during our visit, but unfortunately nothing was scheduled. I visited and took a tour. To their credit, they were VERY open about the fact that lighting tests for an upcoming performance meant I wouldn't see the theater itself.
