Stopped by around 1:00am on a Friday to hear some live music and watch a little tango. I would agree with others who suggest it isn't too touristy. $ARS 120 for entry and no pressure to order anything. The tango was great to see and it was a memorable experience.
Deriving it's name from the wood shavings scraped off of the floor by women's high-heeled shoes and right in the basement of the Armenian Cultural Center on la Calle Armenia, this dance club is perfect for any dancer of any skill level, from first-time tango-ers to experienced salsa dancers, and expect to see other foreigners there as well. Many types... 更多
I visited la viruta and participated in a tango lesson there. The group lesson was divided into 3 groups: beginners, intermediate and advanced. The lesson for intermediates was in Spanish but I think for the beginners also in English. With the entrance you can take the class, go out and return the same evening for another class or milonga. I... 更多
Having read a few of the reviews here, I was filled with a reasonable amount of apprehension and doubt about visiting La Viruta. Having now been, I thought I would add my own thoughts. This is NOT a serious private tango lesson; you will learn some basic tango moves, but as part of a group lesson. You may get some... 更多
Different days and times for different tastes. La Viruta has it all: concerts, dancing, good music, classes, more dancing, medialunas, well air-conditioned. Things change quite a lot depending on the exact day and time, and usually after 2:30-3:00am. ..and Horacio, apart from his many obvious talents, also makes the best cappucino and espresso in Buenos Aires! No, really, try it!
If you want to experience Tango and Milonga in Buenos Aires do not miss to go to the dance classes at la Viruta. It is an amazing place and if you like to have additional private lessons, just ask for gabriel, who has a sensitive understanding for Tango and knows how to transfer this knowledge. If you want to see... 更多
Great music, especially the live band but it only started at 1am! Great place to practice your tango and salsa dancing. Reasonably priced and only one price for the whole night to have a tango lesson, dance and listen to the live band
Community feel to the business no English spoken and big crowded lessons but still fun and im not in England so dont expect my language spoken. I learnt a little and had fun. Worth $10 Can entrance.
I got a lot of recommendations for this place for tango lessons and milonga, so I went twice. I do not recommend it to anyone who doesn't speak Spanish or wants to take a serious tango lesson. Both times I was there, instructors rarely spoke English (either they don't think it's necessary, or they can't). When I asked for instructions... 更多
A local recommended this spot for watching and learning tango. We were shocked at how expensive other tango "experiences" are and were looking for a more authentic/affordable option. This place is definitely no frills - I saw another review say it looked like a church basement, and I agree. But that being said, I didn't go for the atmosphere and... 更多
