Looking to something back to where you come from and not looking for stuff out of China but 'real local' then Oom Samie shop will not dissapoint. There is something for everyone. I cant wait to try the Bugu brandy which according on the bottle can help for every problem that you have.
This is a must visit destination for all tourists. The smell of Buchu (A South African Herb) and Bokkoms (Dried fish) fills the place! So much to buy, do and eat! Stroll from room to room and drink in the feast before your eyes...
There is a lot of history and antiques in this shop. The shop is well maintained, but a bit crowded for me. I found the articles for sale a bit over-priced for the South African market.
what an amazing place to explore, feels ancient and curious, one room full of spices, another of coffees, and odd curious scattered all over. A fun and unusual place to visit.

Oom Samie se Winkel has been around for a very long long time. It's nice to take a photo outside. Very smelly inside (due to dried fish). I won't necessary go out of my way to come here or bring someone. Good for a 5 min walkthrough.
It was a short visit, but gives you a feel of the old times. Don't go there with a hangover, the aroma of bokkoms, will leave your stomach turning.
