Mokala National park is a well kept secret. What a gem!! It has the rugged beauty of the Karoo. Despite the fact that the big 5 does not feature there, there are lots of other endangered species like Roan antelope, black wildebeest, etc. Accomodation are typical SANPARKS style but reasonably well kept. All the staff displays the typical Nortern Cape friendliness. Definitely worth... 更多
Stayed two nights in the kameeldooring treehouse. The treehouse is simple yet has everything you need. The staff at Mosu were amazing, the restaurant service and food excellent. The rock engraving/game drive highly recommended and the interpretation centre well worth a visit. Game a plenty, roads good but need high clearance or 4x4 especially after / during rain. Will certainly return... 更多
I thoroughly enjoy my time in Mokala. I stayed two nights in Mosu and two nights in lilydale, I think this is how you should do it. Both camps are very different. Geographically Lilydale is really nice because it's situated on the river and surrounded by big open grass plains. Mosu's vegetation is very different and much more rocky and... 更多
The landscape looks like Masai Mara - savannah plains. We saw several rhinos and large herd of buffaloes and antelopes. However, facilities need to improve. I suggest to visitors to get clear directions before you start. This is a large reserve and you can tired driving in search of your rest camp. We were not given proper directions to the... 更多
We thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a park. Insofar as our game viewing is concerned, the predators are not all that important, so we do enjoy the ‘tamer’ parks immensely and Mokala gets a 5star! The public approach road to the Mosu gate is horribly corrugated. We drive a 4x4 and let air out of our tyres, but still we... 更多
We visited Mokala during the July winter holiday, when the Kruger Park is usually a bit overcrowded. At Mokala, which has none of the large predators, the experience is much more peaceful and relaxed. (The park is also much smaller). The Motswedi campsite has six lovely sites, each with a private kitchen area and bathroom, overlooking a waterhole. Game is... 更多
What a gem. Charming Lilydale cottage (unit with 5 single beds) overlooking river. Air con. Sanparks style but best of breed. Abundant breeding herds -sightings at every corner. Well maintained. Incredible bush landscapes with camelthorn, scrub, koppie and open plain mix. 2 nights was not long enough. Please support!
Traveling from Durban on route to the Kgalagadi, we decided to spend 3 nights at Mokala Game Reserve. It's relatively new (2007), but wow what an experience. First night at Haak en Steek, a thatched unit all to ourselves. Animals galore came down to the water hole as we braaied 40m away! Then off to the Kameeldoring Tree House....sleeps 2... 更多
This cottage was a real discovery. A secluded spot with a waterhole right in front of it. No need go anywhere but just to enjoy the birdlife and to watch the passing parade. There's no electricity but gas and solar panels are adequate for your needs.
Arrived at 08:15 at the gate. Staff were extremely friendly staff were very helpful. After visiting reception, we had breakfast in the restaurant. The food was well prepared and very tasty. We them drove around the park. Saw, Hartebees, Kudu, Warthog, etc. This time, the Eland, Buffalo, Giraffe were all elusive. The roads were well maintained and easily excessable. We... 更多
