Not crowded. A place to go to still your emotions and quiet the mind. The architecture is to be explored and looked at in detail which will provide you with so much appreciation for those that built it, donated resources and energy to provide a community a place to gather and provide hope.
Our school always made us go to a service at the cathedral once a year. I was never very religious and hated going to services but the cathedral was rather special. I enjoyed just looking at the beautiful inside of this building and the amazing architecture.
This cathedral right in the town centre has do much to offer - The history in the building of it, the religious significance of the building over the years, the fossils imbedded in the columns and the beauty of the building. You will not be disappointed if you pop in for a visit.

I loved this Cathedral. Everything is beautifully preserved and the stained glass windows are simply stunning. The organ and pulpit are beautiful. This is a cathedral that makes you feel like you are in England, rather than South Africa. It really is worth stopping and taking the time to go inside and experience it.
The Spire of the cathedral can be seen from anywhere is town as it welcomes you to Grahamstown. Built in the colonial era, this artwork has an interesting religious and historical perspective in the town. Beautiful to see and peaceful to sit in, well worth a visit.
This is defintely a piece of art in this small town. There are other older and interesting buildings all over town, but this one is standing out since its right in the middle of town. Unfortunately we could not see the inside, but I imagine it is just as magnificent as the outside.
The architecture in the town of Grahamstown is really very nice. Many examples of the early period of South African architecture. The Cathedral is just one of them.
