Visited yesterday primarily so hubby could check out the HO train layout and very detailed diorama and was somewhat amazed by the rest of the museum's displays. Both volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly and went the extra mile to answer our questions and really knew their way around the place. Plan to come back in the Fall because it was... 更多
The Heritage Museum surpassed our expectations. We went primarily to see the model rail road exhibit, but stayed to view all the other displays. Everyone was friendly, chatty, and helpful. The experience was like a walk down Memory Lane for us senior citizens. The model grammar school classroom was a strong piece of nostalgia. I imagine that anyone 55 or... 更多
Very enjoyable area museum with very friendly and informative volunteers. They ran the trains for us and told us the story of the area. Will be sure to go there again.
Oh my gosh, what a find. Who would've thought you would find such an interesting museum in what seems to be almost the middle of nowhere. Occupying a former school building, this place is a wealth of information on what is now the old abandoned copper mine. The real attraction here is the train diorama. If you have any interest... 更多
We spent a leisurely hour enjoying the displays and great historical pics. Being a retired teacher I especially enjoyed the original classroom. The train room is marvelous.... A result of hours of detail work! Be sure to visit!
It is definitely worth the donation to get in. It is a cute little piece of Cottonwood history. It give you a good idea about the history of the area and the nature of some of the strange building that you find around Cottonwood. The volunteers were really enthusiastic and friendly.
I love small town museums, and this one is no exception. There are displays about local life from its start as a company mining town, to a family's collection of belt buckles, to a 1920-30's classroom, to an incredibly detailed model train room showing the area when it was humming with mining activity, plus an eclectic assortment of other historical... 更多
This is a large historic building, half of which is still local school administration and the other half of which is this interesting and eclectic collection of local history. It's a good way to orient yourself to the Verde Valley in general, since it covers mining, agriculture, and daily life in general, including a restored classroom. The very best is... 更多
The cutest little museum ever! Easy and interesting enough for kids and elderly too. The train room is awesome. If you like what you see you can pop over to Old Town Cottonwood and visit Larry's Antiques and Things where you'll find everthing you saw in the museum on sale!
A small museum but staffed by helpful (mostly elderly) volunteers. The train guys really get into it! Great place to spend an hour or so. My last visit was several years ago, but I enjoyed it. Will visit again in future.
