We had a great time visiting Sundog Kennel. It was fun and educational. The ride with the dogs through the woods was good fun and the dogs enjoyed it. It was great to interact with the dogs after the run. We have some great pictures to remember our visit. Our thanks to Jerry and Kathleen!
Wish I'd checked TripAdvisor before we signed up for this experience. As mentioned in several other reviews, the owners are rude and not friendly. At all. When Kathleen arrived in a van to transport us to the kennels, she seemed annoyed. She didn't say hello and there was no conversation during the ride. Once we arrived at the kennels, some... 更多
It was great to learn about sled dogging and see the dogs. They hitched them up to a small jeep and gave the dogs a work out while we got to ride in the jeep. Glad we had a chance to do this tour.
We visited Sun Dog Kennels at the end of the land tour portion of our Alaska experience with Princess Cruise Lines. It was fun and educational. The kennel had 60 sled dogs being trained for racing by the owner, Jerry Sousa, who has participated in many Iditarod races. We got to interact with the dogs and go on a 5... 更多
We had the opportunity to spend a little over 6 weeks (in Dec. - February) with our military family who were recently transferred to JBER in Anchorage, A K. While there we had the opportunity to spend a day in Talkeetna, AK and take the opportunity to check an event off of my wife's bucket list. She has wanted to... 更多
I visited Alaska with my wife in August. The Sundog Kennel tour in Talkeetna was the worst experience in this beautiful land. The owners are rude and do not try to provide any interesting explanation about the dogs and Iditarod. The ride with the dogs pulling the car is also not worth the time and the price.
Fabrizio The Tour begins with a safety speech and some critical facts about alaskan sled dogs. Then a ride on... 更多
My husband and I were put off a bit by the cost of this, but figured it would end up being worth it. We were both disappointed. As others have mentioned, mostly the owners (even their young son) seem to just barely tolerate people. We did leave a tip, but that was for the dogs. Be aware - these are... 更多
I took my daughter to this excursion - quite a bit of money for the experience I would say. I agree with all the reviews about the rude owners making you feel like they don't want you there and the owner told me that they do the tours to offset the cost of having the 75 dogs. While not mushing... 更多
The owners Kathleen and Jerry are sarcastic, bordering on rude. The information about the dogs and the race is interesting, but their attitude toward their visitors makes this experience not much fun. Example: their replies to questions make visitors feel stupid. They are condescending and seem like they are in this for the money, not for love of the sport... 更多
