We took a big Alaskan cruise with our family a few years back. I remember this as being a very nice, beautiful, and unique spot to visit. The short but very breathtaking totem trail is surely a must do for anyone in the area, as these are sculptures made by a special culture not really found anywhere else in the... 更多
My husband and I booked this through a cruise. Tekay, our guide and driver was so gracious and helpful. She was full of legends and stories. She was very knowledgable about how to "read" a totem pole. She knew a lot about the native tribes and was very respectful of where she was and the history of the area.
We took a bus to the Totem Bight Stare Park. We got to learn about totem poles and what they mean and the stories they tell! You learn how it was made and how they colored them using berries and oil. It was a great walk through a forest of totem poles and an actual remake of a living quarter... 更多
This is an amazing and beautiful place to see. It has authentic and copies of totem poles on display. The guide tells you the story of several of the totems and takes you into an authentic Clan House. It is definitely worth the visit.
What a beautiful spot! On the water, lovely trees and grounds, and well curated totems. Loved the clan house, and the Park-sponsored Haida dance program featured once a month. The program was beautifully and warmly executed. Their descriptions of how their attire was made communicates community and tradition. And observers are invited to join in the dances, becoming participants. One... 更多
I could've stayed at the boat the day we went here. You have to dial a 1-800 number to hear about each totem pole, there is about 10-15 poles. Not worth it
We took the city bus to the park. Short trip and $2 for all day pass. Free entrance to the park. Meet wonderful locals on our trip and learned so much. Definitely worth a visit.
Our tour was completed by Bryon. Bryon had a great deal of information on each section of each totem while able to fit in some comical elements. Would highly recommend Bryon!
We just traveled on 7-night Inside Passage cruise on Crown Princess and Ketchikan was one of our stops. Short time in port & we purchased the Lumberjack & Totem pole excursion. Very happy with both. The history & beauty of the Totem Poles was very interesting & even my 15 & 16 year old boys enjoyed it.
