we visited the Mendenhall Glacier and took the trail to Nugget Falls. The trail is not a very hard trail to walk but is about one mile in each direction. The view as we got close to the falls was just beautiful especially with the Glacier in the backround.
Part of our mendenhall glacier cruise excursion. Was given advice to go straight to falls since excursion was short in time. Glad we took that advice. Beautiful and powerful.
The nugget falls at Mendenhall is the best place in Alaska! There is a visitors center there but if you're short on time, just take the trails to the falls, you gotta see this!!!!
The water fall may be a little bit of a hike, but boy it is worth it. The water is so cold and the water fall is beautiful. You could sit and watch it for hours.
Enjoyed the hike down to Nugget Falls and saw a lot of wild flowers. It's well worth the small effort to go to the falls. It was beautiful.
Nugget Falls is a package deal when you go see Mendenhall Glacier. You can't see Mendenhall without seeing Nugget as they are right next to each other. It's an amazing, huge and powerful waterfall. You'll feel it when you hike to the foot of the falls. Amazing!
Great attraction! But if you visit via one of the tour buses and want to walk to the falls, you better hustle! It's a full 40 minutes at a fast walk! It's an easy walk....but it takes a good 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back!
