Enjoyed the homestead cabin and then the museum itself. The exhibits were informative and interesting, especially the Exxon Valdez exhibit which reminds us all of the tragedy of the oil spill and the amazing courage and faith of the people who helped clean up the spill. I enjoyed some of the personal stories from people and the artwork was top... 更多
This is a nice little museum with a variety of displays. But for $8 admission, I expected more. I was more impressed with the Norman Lowell Gallery that's a few miles north and has no admission charge
We really enjoyed this stop. It was $8 each to get inside. For those interested in animal biology, there is a lot including skeletons, skulls, wings and talons from many local birds. There is also an impressive collection of marine mammal skeletons. For the history buffs, this is a great stop for the history of Alaska and of commercial fishing.
This is a small local museum with an incredible amount of information. We particularly enjoyed the video about the Kilcher family since we are fans of the TV show The Last Frontier.
We found this little museum and didn't expect much. It turned out that we really learned a lot about Alaska and the natives in this part of Alaska. The people working at the museum were very helpful and friendly I would recommend this to anyone who has time.
Don't let the outside fool you, this is a great museum. Larger than it looks. Lots to do and see for all ages. When your done fishing, take a day for the Pratt. If you have small kids, make sure they arrive for aquarium feeding time.
We always send guests to the Pratt Museum. The top floor has the best collection of Homer and Kachemak Bay memorabilia. There are some fun movies. The aquarium is fun and if you time it right you can watch them feed the fish. Downstairs there is a really great exhibit on the Valdez oil spill.
The Pratt is one of the best small museums in the US and won an award for this. You will find the history of the land and the people here, the homesteaders, which are still alive, and the Natives who live in the Kachemak Bay area. Plans are well into progress to build on site a new museum in the... 更多
