We've been to the Sheldon Museum several times, and it's always great. The museum has a new exhibit on the 50 objects that tell the story of Haines, and that was a real treat.
This museum has lots to say about the native people's life back then and the history of how things developed there. The volunteer guides are very knowledgeable and kind to answer any questions! We enjoyed seeing inserting things with history behind each of the. The place is well kept, nice and clean, Love it!
An interesting museum stop showing the history of the area. Volunteers are on the 2 floors explaining anything you have questions about. They are very friendly and also like to hear where visitors to Haines come from
It's a nice, little museum that focuses on the local area, history and culture. Worth the $5 to not only see several collections, but support a worthy organization at the same time.
Museum is a great place to learn about the history of the area. There is an exceptional area dedicated to the native peoples. The docent was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. A great way to spend an hour or so. Admission was only $5, very reasonable.
Great historical information of the area and a nice little gift shop with native crafts and books about Alaska. Displays include local artifacts and photography and knowledgable staff on hand to answer questions.
This museum has great examples of the native culture of the Haines area. The pictures are fascinating. Make sure you buy tickets to all three museums together to save money.....check at the museum for details.
