This little shop is worth the stop! We stayed at the Tree Houses and Mark recommended that we check this place out. My son picked out a small parrot whistle, but sadly he dropped in later that evening and it broke. The next day, the shop owner replaced the whistle and gave my boys a beautiful hand painted piggy bank... 更多
We were staying at the tree house hotel, so this was just 5 min. drive down on the way to La Fortuna. Nice place. They are very friendly. They make everything by hand, He makes the items and she paints them. It is much better than just buying souvenirs that are made and shipped in from China. Authentic handmade is... 更多
First of all, it is difficult to find, so let me help anyone looking. I had my phone gps capture coordinates while I was there. N 10 deg, 27.938' W 84 deg, 31.402' After reading the reviews here I assumed that we would find a store full of truly unique items, but that is not what we found at all.... 更多
I had looked in several stores for a hand painted mask and finally found one here and at a reasonable price. They also had a lot of jewelry items and other handcrafted souvenirs. A small shop with very helpful staff. A great place to purchase your gifts for home.
Marisol was so sweet! Her husband Leo makes the wooden items and Marisol hand paints them. She also makes lovely jewelry. Marisol was so warm, welcoming and helpful. She offered us pipa frias and showed pictures of her family. I didn't want mass manufactured souvenirs so this was the place to go. Everything is reasonably priced, unique and lovely.
Highly recommended and certainly worth the stop. A visit to Souvenir Leo is like a visit to Leo and Marisol's home. The family is lovely and there are so many handcrafted, quality items at reasonable prices. Ask about the lovely bird who lives in their yard and loves to sing :) Our family enjoyed the visit and we walked away... 更多
This place was recommended to us by the Treehouse Hotel where we stayed. The shop is small, but full of handcrafted items. Some of the materials used comes from their yard. It's a husband and wife team. The husband carves and makes them, and the wife does all the paintings. We were greeted with a coconut drink and then after... 更多
Such a warm and friendly family! All the souvenirs are handmade by Leo and his wife Marisol at their home. Very reasonably priced.... Would recommend that visitors skip the commercial stores in town and head to Leo's, it's just a 20 minute drive from La Fortuna and so worth the experience. My four year old son loved it....especially being able... 更多
Here are GPS coordinates of their location, 10°24'59.4"N 84°31'14.7"W Coming from La Fortuna it took us about 25 min. It was on the left just after going through La Vega town intersection. There are two parking spots you can pull into just before the shop just to the left (there is a concrete pad and a tiny parking lot sign). ... 更多
If you appreciate hand made crafts, authentic to Costa Rica, and if you like to support local artists, you'll be glad you made the trip! We met one of the owners who does amazing painting on feathers, and wood and were glad to finally find authentic Costa Rican crafts to bring home. (In la Fortuna we saw many items made... 更多
