The Live Oak Cemetery is a must see for cemetery and Civil War enthusiasts. The roads and paths are lined with old live oak trees with lots of Spanish moss. Some areas are in need of restoration. But the overall appearance of the cemetery is beautiful.

Oh how completely enchanting this cemetery is! You must meander through the gravestones and take in all the names. The statuary is some of the very best I've ever seen! And I've seen a lot of historic cemeteries! I completely recommend!
We went here because it was listed as the number one place according to trip advisor. It was definitely interesting. Not much of the cemetery is new and there are lots and lots of confederate soldiers and/or graves from the 1800s which we took pictures of and then googled. This cemetery is picturesque and very interesting as a sight seeing destination. It is sad that Selma does not have the funds to properly maintain, although you can tell they do their best with what they have.
I didn't pay too much attention to the grave stones, yet the trees and and setting offer fantastic photo opportunities. Worth spending 30 min or more.
