We hadde an excellent guided tour of the house by the supernice Linda- she knew everything about the history of the building and about the people that has lived and died there. The building is so well kept and fully furnished, all the way down to clothes and instruments, you kind of feel that the habitants has just left everything... 更多
We have visited many such homes, but this is one of our favorites. The man who built it took many years to build it and incorporated many features from places he visited. Guarantee you will never find another home like it. The guide was absolutely wonderful.
This was a great day trip while camping at Lake Lurleen in Tuscaloosa County. Our family enjoys historical sites and especially Civil War history and the price of the private tour was very reasonable.
I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon visit at Gaineswood in Demopolis. The tour guide was excellent with so much knowledge of the family, home and history of the area. The admission price for the tour is only $7 per person and is well worth it because of the wealth of knowledge that you gain. I would recommend this stop for anyone... 更多

Our guide, Paige, gave a wonderful tour as she was very knowledgeable about the house and its owners. This house is off the beaten path but well worth the drive. The outside... 更多
Breaking our journey from Montgomery to Jackson, we spent a rewarding hour at this fascinating and generally well-presented ante-bellum house. Our guide Paige was very engaging and personable, with an encyclopedic knowledge of both the house and its builder. Here and there the place was in need of some money being spent, but generally we felt the tour was well... 更多
Very polite and wonderful tour the house was great and Paige was our tour guide she answered all our questions and knew a great deal about the house and history that went right along with it
This doesnt have much, but visiting this attraction was a nice break. I enjoyed the tour and learning about the family that lived there. The inn keepers have preserved this house very nicely and Im glad I got to visit it.
The guided tour by friendly staff members takes about an hour and provides a wealth of interesting (historical) details. Photography permitted (no flash).
