This church is in much better shape than many of the churches we saw in Brazil. It was difficult to hear our guide with all the noise going on outside due to Carnival preparation. Beautiful art and workmanship, one of those places you can leave Olinda without seeing. Like the cathedral downtown, the size is deceiving. The architecture and splendor are equal to those in europe.
Very well preserved gem of Brazilian history. Not only a beautiful historical church, with priceless art and beauty, but also the location of the first Brazilian law school, alma mater to many great figures of this country's history.

Wow. All of the Olinda is nice but this church is a real treat. Amazing work inside, beatiful views from the veranda over Recife and Olinda. A must see.
