Awesome place, Monastery a must go. Local market is full of Bengalis serving Bengali foods. Lots of midrange hotels. Road is very steep so be ready for a tough walk everytime. Lava is a very beautiful hamlet of Darjeeling; Its a small village with limited population, a market, school and a Buddhist temple named as Jamgyong Kongtrul Monastery. The young monks can be seen playing football. The natural beauty of this place is really pleasant. Lava is a good place for one days stay or a drive-pass.
