The new visitor's center for the new Gatun Locks is worth a visit. Unlike the others, which I suspect were after-thoughts, this facility was designed to provide a great view and education on the canal. The canal is flooded now and they seem to be getting close to opening. They've even included a path through the jungle to see what... 更多
The visitor’s center for the Panama Canal Expansion Project is new and offers an expansive view of the canal and the work being done on the new lock. We started with a movie about the addition which was informative and then a question and answer session following. The person presenting was very knowledgeable and provided lots of information. This area... 更多
A good short movie, excellent information, great views. An informative and enjoyable less crowded way to learn about the canal. You won't be disappointed.
We recently had the opportunity to once again visit this place. It is hard to imagine that magnitude of the locks and the ships that pass through them! it is awe-inspiring. we then were truly blessed to travel with wonderful French Friends that have a sailboat, too, and they offered the tremendous opportunity for us to cruise aboard their sailboat... 更多
If you liked the Canal then this is a MUST SEE, I'm pretty sure in the next years this will become "THE" Observation Centre of the Canal but in the meantime just enjoy the amazing view of Gatun Lake and incredible construction of the Canal. As it still doesn't receive many visitors, even tough they have the whole infrastructure (a... 更多
The experience was priceless, to see everything before it is flooded and see what is involved. There is a great observation center and both a restaurant and cafeteria. Service is friendly.
This zone is about 1 hour north of Panama City (near Colon). It is well worth the visit. You see progress of construction of the new lock on the Atlantic side. The scale is enormous and the speed with which they're completing it is very impressive. A must see for anyone interested in the Panama Canal. While you're there, visit... 更多
The road to this site was rough with limited signage so a tour by a reputable local guide is recommended. But it was exciting for this engineer to see the canal expansion which is about 80% complete based on Panamanian sources. They had installed a few rolling gates but a few were on the site (not installed and in full... 更多
Ok, If you are not from Panama and don't know the area you are going to get lost. Get good... 更多
