i have been there yesterday and it was clear sunny day with clear waters. but i recommend the visitors to go there in the season. the person in this contact is tharindu and he is well experienced and he knows every corner of the corel reef. highly recommended to go for a tour with him. really enjoyed the day and... 更多
The beach is accessed from any of the sea front hotels, we used the Hikkaduwa Beach hotel, where the staff were very attentive. We used their restaurant and accessed their facilities including a fresh water shower. We walked onto the beach from there and could swim up to the reef, just a few metres away. The visibility was low in... 更多
Plenty of boats available to take you and guide you to the best places - good prices with knowledgeable people. Good access from Hikkaduwa centre. Suitable for all ages.
The Coral Sanctuary at Hikkaduwa is really beautiful. You can take trip on those glass bottomed boats or snorkel. There are many PADI-certified Scuba Diving schools on the beach too.
I had read lot of different reviews about this place and I was excited about the thought to feeding and possibly swimming with turtles. This is something I'm really glad I had the chance to do. We fed the turtles, they came really close to you to get the food. We had rented snorkelling masks and had intended to snorkel... 更多
The reef comes right up to the shore. best attempted at low tide and the waves can (did) knock you onto the coral and you can get cuts (i had 4 cuts on leg, chest, hip and knee). Well worth the effort. We saw large parrot fish, octopus in the open. 2 foot sharks, cow fish, angel fish, grouper, jacks... 更多
This is an amazing reef to experience turtles. It is true that many corals are dead but that is a problem worldwide. You can still experience lots of fish, and turtles just off the beach which is great for children and beginners learning to snorkel and scuba dive,
We have snorkelled in quite a few places in Asia, and this was a great place, just off the beach. In the mornings the water was clear, and my husband was privileged enough to swim alongside some turtles! However, the ecology of the area is going to be compromised,if those who oversee the coral garden continue to allow flat bottomed boats to... 更多
A lovely way to spend your time when the tide is low, you can see lots of fish and plenty crabs. In the early morning and early evening turtles come into the shore to be hand fed with seaweed, this was a lovely experience.
