We were offered an individual tour to fill our afternoon following our flight over the Nasca lines and our bus to Arequipa. Fascinating to see how ingenious the nascan people were. Make sure you employ a local guide to explain, otherwise it is just a set of nicely presented spiral holes. How they still function after hundreds of years amazed me. Well worth doing around the vomit comet ride over the lines :-)
The area of the aqueduct is a bit rundown and there is no information to explain what it is all about. The guided tours on offer at our guesthouse take two hours, so I assume that you will learn a lot more than by simply wandering around. Even so, it was worth a visit.
