Went here on a business trip in June 2006. If you ever get a chance then just go do it. There are ice caves, icebergs, fjords, unique flowers and fauna of the region. Then landscape is a true testament to being at the top of the world.
The summer months are daylight 24 hours a day. It's unusual to see...
Lots to see and do, we visited in the summer but could still see icebergs and glaciers, and the wether was in the 50s, (°F) so not terrible. It's a very interesting place that not many get to visit. The base offers activities and sightseeing as well. Make the most of your time here!
A very special experience watching the sun go around (well above the horizon) 24 hours a day. The rocky landscape bursts into colors of the rainbow with small blooms and large blooms for about a week. Otherwise it is rock or ice. MANY THINGS TO LEARN.
