The butterfly part was nice but the cages for other animals were small, concrete and not much to engage with. The monkeys seemed to enjoy running about free but weren't happy when grabbed for photos. With some improvements for the animals this could be a lovely little place.
Don't get me wrong: there was nothing wrong with this destination. We went there as part of a tour. The actual butterfly portion wasn't very big and we were rushed through. There was other wildlife to see including monkeys and birds.
we drove around for half an hour and asked at the gas station and did not find this place. we think we did but it was clearly no longer in operation and overgrown. we were so disappointed.
Small but interesting. The guide knew his stuff! He let each of us take turns having the capuchin (he called "white face") on our shoulders - I loved this. Gorgeous parrot spoke back to me in Spanish! Toucans were magnificent to look at as were the white tailed dear. The butterflies were majestic and the enclosure that kept them was... 更多
We were met by a young man that was full of information about the animals, plants, and butterflies inside the park. It is small but you can hold some of the animals including monkeys and birds. Worth a visit
This was a nice place to visit while we where on a guided tour of Honduras. A young man brought us around the park showing and telling us about the different species of birds, monkeys, flowers and butterflies found on the island. I was quite pleased with this visit. We were even able to hold and pet some of the... 更多
The explanation of stages of a butterfly's development was interesting and the different species and plants in the screened enclosure lovely. The monkeys were fun to see and there were some toucans and parrots and local domesticated rodents that were brought out of their cages to pet and hold. The tortuous trip up a very steep, narrow road gives good... 更多
We really enjoyed our tour of the Roatan Butterfly park. It was very interesting to see so many different types of butterflies in one place. The grounds were very well taken care of and quite beautiful
This place is small but very interesting. The tour guide was very sweet and well informed. The parrots were so much fun to watch. We will be going back to Roatan in Dec at will be visting the garden again. Make sure you wear bug spray
