We caught the boat from the harbour, leaves every hour and returns every half hour. You pay at reception 25 Kuna each. The path around the island is broken with the bricks sticking up, must be very wary where you walk, still worth a visit.
If you are staying at the Island Hotel Katarina the boat to the island and access to the grounds is free. Otherwise you have to pay. The island is very pleasant. The grounds of the hotel are well cared for and the rest of the island is more natural.
Caught the boat across to the island. Disappointed. Could be a beautiful place, but quite neglected. The hotel looked nice I guess - but too quiet (for us). The one taverna we found was unattended at mid-day, so we returned to Rovinj hastily.
We had a lovely half day sojourn here. It's only a ten minute ferry ride from Rovinj harbour but it transfers you to tranquillity and to a beach with SHADE provided by old pine trees, ( much needed for those of us who don't want to toast to cinnamon). We found the water silky and calm - lovely for swimming....
A charming, small island, a stone's throw from Rovinj harbour, with a hotel complex. Free boat trip if staying at island's hotel or at the fabulous Adriatic hotel in Rovinj.
Lovely coastal walk through pine forests, with great views back to Rovinj. Some nice little secluded beaches. On our walk around the island, we encountered no one else, but beware...
If you want peace and quiet, go to this island. Go to the far side and enjoy swimming in the open sea. So clean. There are shady areas around as well as in full sun. There is a hotel there serving lunch, dinners and drinks with stunning views. One of my favourite places of Rovinj.
