Our family took a bike and boat tour of islands off the coast of Croatia. We rode from one end of Korcula and completed the ride in Korcula City. On the way was a lovely beach to bathe in. The view coming into the old town from up on the hill was magnificent. Once we arrived and took a tour... 更多
We visited Korcula in November and officially the season is over. For us that was a delight as we could wander around and explore and take photos unhindered by others. There wasn't much open but for me that made it so much easier to see the beauty of the old town.
We took a two week tour of Croatia and Slovenia and we spent an afternoon in the Korcula Old City. It is a small city directly on the Adriatic. It is supposedly the birthplace of Marco Polo although there is disagreement about this among historians. However, Marco Polo was captured here and put into prison where a fellow inmate chronicled... 更多
We visited Korcula on a tour from Dubrovnik and our local guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the city and the different places to have a look at. We were very lucky and the weather was marvelous even late October so The views were stunning and the pictures worth it. Do not miss it if you are visiting... 更多
I did not expect Croatia to have such beautiful islands-what a surprise!! Korcula is a place to relax-there's a couple of museums and churches to tour, but I got the sense that travelers come here to unwind. I rented a bike and spent a day riding, took advantage of spa services at my hotel (Marko Polo, highly recommend), had a... 更多
Korčula town has all for a choosy visitor. It has fine position on a small hill near the seaside on marvelous island. You can visit local museum, look at old stone architecture in narrow streets, you can hear some legends about Marco Polo. You can also find some good and some average restaurants. Just avoid the high season in August... 更多
Korcula was one of the towns that was a stop on our 8-day cruise of the Dalmatian islands. It was very pretty from the water and interesting to see but quite small so you can see everything in a couple of hours.
I have given this a 4 star review as to compare with, say, Dubrovnik Old Town would be unfair. Korcula Old City is a delightful place with enough things to do to keep you busy for a day. We climbed up the bell tower of the Church of St. Marks. Defo worth a visit and only 3 euro but don't... 更多
Lots of nartow streets and stairs, with walls and churches loaded with history, and dotted with galleries, good snd interesting shops (in addition to the souvenir shops and junks) and a good number of very good restaurants
