Brief stopover on the route from Zagreb to plitvice and a good introduction to the balkan war. Scars from shrapnels are still visible on many buildings nearby. interesting to see how lorries and trucks were improvised to become tanks for the war.
The museum is located next to the confluence of the rivers Korana and Mrežnica, so if you're coming that way, check that out as well. The museum itself is a collection of weapons of the Croatian army from the Homeland war, as the city of Turanj played a great role in the war.
It was interesting to see how many of the vehicles had been customized into combat vehicles. There is very little information to bring the war to life. Worth a brief stop but not a detour if it's not on your route.
Travelling between Plitvice and Zagreb this little military collection is a perfect place for a quick stop to stretch your legs. Situated right on the main road, free parking and open 24 hours (the collection is open to the public and not fenced off)
