Tucked away in one of the many narrow, steep lanes this is a fascinating house in which Bukovac lived. Still undergoing restoration the walls show the paintings with which he decorated them. The gallery at the top of the house is filled with his paintings which show his amazing range and versatility. Especially fine are his portraits.
Really interesting to someone who has a passing interest in art. Worth the entry fee and takes about an hour. Do you think the artist's style varies massively?
Bukovac was a 19th century impressionist painter and one of Croatia's best. His house is well worth visiting and there is a good collection of his paintings.
I had never heard of Vlaho Bukovac before our visit but he led an amazing life travelling the world and earning wide admiration for his work. There are many originals displayed and his impressionistic work is especially worth seeing. However go particularly to see the house. The room made out as his studio is very evocative and tells his life... 更多
Just a minutes walk up one of the side alleys from Cavtat harbour. Bukovac was obviously a very gifted artist and for a small entry fee you can view some of his work. The house is not that big so if you can spare half an hour of your holiday it is well worth a visit.
