The views from Vulcan are spectacular, especially on a clear night. Sunsets, in particular, are amazing. But it's not just about the views at Vulcan Park & Museum. There is a lot of information on not just the history of the statue but the history of industry in Birmingham as well. I highly recommend a visit to Vulcan Park &... 更多
Awesome view of Birmingham! The Vulcan statue is cast iron, a symbol of the industry that started Birmingham. Go twice - during the daytime and again as or after the sun sets in the evening.
When you think the god of Iron and fire you picture a hardness, but when you visit The Vulcan Park you find something else. Lovely, manicured grounds, a breeze, a gorgeous view of the city. All watched over by the statue of Vulcan. The Vulcan Park is located at 1701 Valley View Drive and is open 10am-10pm Monday- Saturday and... 更多
I love this place! The main feature of Vulcan Park is the statue itself - the largest iron statue in the world. The setting is outstanding - from the views of the City of Birmingham to the beautiful landscaping and inviting grounds, it's a must visit any time I am in the area. The on-site museum/gift shop offers a variety... 更多
My family and I came here one afternoon and we enjoyed. You could spend about an hour at this Museum. We enjoyed see the Vulcan statue and learning about how it was made and learned about how it was at the World Fair!
This is probably the highest vantage view of the city. It is breath taking during sunset. I did not go deep in the park because there was a private event when I was there.
Although this only really took about a hour out of our day, we could have spent more time to look at everything. The museum was nice and has been recently remodeled as well as the statue itself. This is a Birmingham treasure that is well worth the support and appreciation. My father enjoyed this trip down memory lane, even tho... 更多
I visited this park on a day that was more akin to a tropical storm. The park has ample parking and is landscaped very nicely. The museum is interesting and covers the story of the iron industry of Birmingham. An elevator carries you up to the feet of Vulcan (the supposed god of the forge) and an enclosed viewing area.... 更多
Great price and service, view from the top is amazing, staff very friendly and courteous. Story of the monument is very interesting.
Decided to visit the small park on Red Mountain with the mammoth sculpture of Vulcan after reading about it in the AAA tourbook. Walking up the small hill from the parking lot with large American flags in the foreground and the landmark/sculpture in the background is compelling. On a clear day, the view of the city from this high spot... 更多
Drove to the park while visiting B'ham for a few days as the mammoth sculpture epitomizes the city's industrial roots. My husband and I walked up to and around the landmark but did not go inside as we were content seeing the sculpture up close and from all angles. Perfect place for great photos of the city's skyline and especailly... 更多
Make sure after taking in the view that you go inside too. For those who aren't afraid of heights, I recommend going up top for a better view as well.
