You don't expect a Lagoon right in the middle of a dessert. (driest place on earth). The lagoon is home to flamingos.Beautiful flamingos in the dessert. You are so close that you can take good photos. I'm planning on going back some day. It is located at approximately 7500 feet elevation.

A rather long drive out of San Pedro de Atacma lead s you to this extraordinary sight, Pink flamingoes minding their own business, feeding in the lagoon. There weren't too many in mid March, but there must be a better season. Great photo op!
We drove there in our own car. Entry fee is 2,500 pesos/pp around $4). Beautiful nature scenery, flamingos and other birds. it was nice to see it all.
