It was a hill top fort made of same material as hill, so bit difficult to get good photos of it. There is a nice climb to a Mirador with great views. I went on a mountain bike but you could walk from San Pedro. It's something to do if you have nothing better.
Close to San Pedro. An ancient Inca fortress built in the 12th century, strategically placed on the side of a hill protected by a gorge over the river. The main path is quite a steep climb up 50M or so with a cliff edge in one part so good shoes essential.
I'd missed out on the other tours because I'm lazy and didn't plan ahead. This hike/bike ride, however, is definitely worth a few hours. The views are great and the hike is a real workout. And for 3000 pesos compared to what some other trips were charging, it's worth the price and time.
It's a relatively cheap and enjoyable way to spend a few hours in San Pedro. Built by the original inhabitants of these lands, we hired bikes and rode out to the fort. Gives a good 360 view of the valley and desert, but be warned, you'll need plenty of sunscreen and water on a hot summer day!
We spent nearly 3 hours here hiking to the top viewing point. It is a good trail, but is steep in a few places. The view is incredible and should be on your must see list when in San Pedro. I did not find the ruins to be that impressive, but the signage providing the history of the area is... 更多
This archeological site shows some ruins and a structure and some statue like faces carved in the mountain. It is small, but it is a nice walk towards it and walking around there is nice too. You can walk towards the ruins and also take a right before the entrance and see a small garden with the faces. This can... 更多
The bike ride here and around the surrounding area was fun but very hot and tiring. It was our first day in San Pedro so it was our first glimpse of the landscape. Make sure you get a good map as the one they gave us was awful and we spent ages looking for places.
Just a couple of kilometres out of town it's easy to visit even on a bicycle. The ruins are interesting and the view spectacular if you hike to the view point.
