We went in august with a tour company Ecoturismo from La Serena and it was great! Our guide really made sure that we could get as close as possible to everything. We saw dolphins up close next to our boat, penguins, baby penguins, sea lions, loads of baby sea lions, pelicans and so many other birds. The nature was also... 更多
Isla Damas (Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve) is located some 100km from La Serena, you got here mainly on organized tour with ecotourism companies. First I've nothing but praise for our guide (I forgot the name, sorry). He was an ex-teacher, fluent in english, spanish and french. Always there to take care of you and giving plenty of useful information.... 更多
make sure you don't go with a tour company if you want to go cheap! get the public bus there, then you can pay for the boat. its the same boat that the tour companies take you on for a fraction of the price. The boat tour is in English and Spanish. In this trip we saw dolphins swimming along... 更多
We went on an organized tour with Ecoturismo from La Serena to Punta Choros, with a boat tour of Isla Choros including a landing on Isla Damas, the only island in the reserve that is allowed to be accessed. The tour was absolutely brilliant. Our guide, Jorge, could speak every language we threw at him and was very knowledgeable about... 更多
Very nice bay lost on the Chilean cost at the beginning of the Atacama desert. You'll discover the local Fauna in its natural habitat: Birds, penguins, seals, dolphins and if you are lucky even wales! Make sure you go at the right season though (not breeding season) so you can see all of the fauna.
The boat rides and the experience are good. The overall tours are also enjoyable, but if you expect to go and see a lot of penguins, you will be disappointed. Understand that you may see a few penguins, dolphins, and other sea life and birds, but nothing is guaranteed. We booked a penguin tour, but only saw 5 of them,... 更多
My wife and I went on a bilingual tour with Jorge from Eco Turismo and very much enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide did a fantastic job of making us into a cohesive group despite the language divide. The tour was entertaining, we got to see dolphins and sea lions, and a few birds. Unfortunately it was not a good time... 更多
We took an Ecoturismo tour (which was well worth it) and saw penguins, sea otters, sea lions, seabirds beyond compare, and a pod of dolphins! Take a tour out of La Serena--you don't want to take your rental car on the rough road!
This place is awesome, scout for penguins, lay down in the crystal white blending sand, take a walk around the island. place is just magic! we even saw a whale and many dolphins!
