Via the "Titanic III", we ventured out to see the penguin colony in Punihuil, Chiloe. The boat trip brings you up close to the birds and penquins who live on the rocks. Make time to eat lunch following the boat trip at the local restaurant on the beach. Check out the beautiful carved dining chairs with penguin backs!
Very short ride (1/2 hour or so) very close to shore to see three islands to see penguins – the Magellan and Humboldt. There were quite a few penguins to see so worth it, especially if you’ve never seen any before. However, if you have seen penguins, you may be disappointed (unless you just want to see a different variety).... 更多
Tourism hasn't been well developed near Ancud on Chiloe so any good attraction is overbooked and that is the case here. Some people who had reserved on our tour were left on shore due to overbooking. There are too many people looking for good tourist experiences and the Ancud area of Chiloe has been over market for what is available.... 更多
quite the experience getting carted into the boat so that you don't get your feet wet... lol. The islands are well looked after and you can see that the people take care in the impact of the area, though there are quite a few days trips the still have limited the amount of boats allowed out all day. The guide... 更多
Very interesting even if you are not allowed to walk on the island. But careful, in February when Chileans and Argentinians are on vacation, the place collapse. We arrived at the beach at 1pm and the only available tours were at 6 pm...
It appears our expectations had been managed well, as several people we have met on our travels had said they were disappointed with the number of penguins they saw. However we saw loads - hundreds! The whole thing is really well organised, from arriving on the beach to leaving. Really glad we went and well worth a visit. Apparently recommendable... 更多
You can get here by driving (about 45min from Ancud, the route is very easy and with plenty of signs) or with a guided tour. If you drive, the road just ends on the beach, were you park, and will find a row of houses each of them offering the tour. Keep in mind you will NOT see the pinguins... 更多
The boat trip takes alltogether just 35-40 minutes (the islands with the wildlife are just off the beach), and it costs just 7000 pesos. We saw plenty of maguellan penguins (it was 4PM): jumping into the water, just standing on the shore enjoying the sun, returning in a funny row to their nest in the hills. We saw many other... 更多
We enjoyed taking the small boat to the island. There were other birds, but we went for the penguins. We could have spent more time but it was fun.
