Inaugurated in 1998, the Coffee Museum is one of the main touristic attractions of the City of Santos and has as main purpose to preserve and make known the history of coffee in Brazil and in the world. By means of objects, documents and audiovisual media, the Institution shows the public how the evolution of coffee culture and the political, economic and cultural development of the country are closely connected since the second half of the XVIII century and up to our days.

Interesting brief insight into history of the world coffee industry until 1929. Good on hot and/or rainy mornings. Makes a good add to trolley line ride one block away. Trolley runs on the hour and has decent WiFi which is a plus.

Everything is in Portuguese. Very little English translation. It wasn't that interesting to me. The building itself was kind of cool but nothing to go out of your way to stay. The highlight was a cuppa coffee at the cafeteria which was delicious. This is not a must see. My entire group of three found it lackluster

The museum is good and tells about the history of the coffee like how the trading was done etc. So can be visited if you have extra time and interested in museums.

Was really a lovely place to visit. Even though there was no guide available, it had English information reachable. I really enjoyed the style of the exposure and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Ps: unfortunately I couldn't go in a day to taste different coffees but I still got the chance to drink one at the coffee bar... 更多

I found this museum dull. Not a great deal of information or interest and not many English translations. Perhaps worth a visit if in Santos but definitely not worth a journey.

The museu mia locares um a beautiful late 18th Ventura doentinho Santos. You can hobby tourist bus or by yourself. The street is remodeled to look old style with iron cast light poles. There are beautiful paintings covering the whole wall by a famous painter from 1900s. You can enjoy best Brazilian coffees, different drinks based on coffee as well,... 更多

This is a great place to visit, the building is quite old with fantastic detail. This was where they use to sell the coffee and decide on the price, it is very interesting and you can get a really good cup of coffee in the cafe. It's very cheap to get in as well and they let you take photos.

Im not a coffee drinker, but love the smell of the coffee though. And I had a sip because it was a complimentary gift for purchasing coffees for my family and friends. The museum looks big from the outside but inside, they didnt exhibit many stuff.

Built in 1922, this imposing building once announced daily the prices of coffee as a commodity. Brazil was the main producer so it made sense there to have the prices decided here, but after the 1929 crash, more and more New York and other financial centers took over that role. One can still see the place where the exchange discussions... 更多
