This is a great place to visit, the building is quite old with fantastic detail. This was where they use to sell the coffee and decide on the price, it is very interesting and you can get a really good cup of coffee in the cafe. It's very cheap to get in as well and they let you take photos.
Im not a coffee drinker, but love the smell of the coffee though.And I had a sip because it was a complimentary gift for purchasing coffees for my family and friends. The museum looks big from the outside but inside, they didnt exhibit many stuff.
Built in 1922, this imposing building once announced daily the prices of coffee as a commodity. Brazil was the main producer so it made sense there to have the prices decided here, but after the 1929 crash, more and more New York and other financial centers took over that role. Very well organized and comparable to good international museums. Tells the history of coffee plantations and commerce since the first years in Brazil. Explains the development of the port and of the city. The building itself is worth the visit!
