With the Olympics coming up, the buiding, the organization and the collection is in need of some serious love. The place is literally falling apart, with yellow tape to prevent using the marble bannisters. The museum itself has an impressive collection but is a little disorganized. The most interesting thing is the building itself (once a residence of the Portuguese royal family after the seat of government was removed from Lisbon to Rio).
